Much of the cooling water used in steel mills is beef tallow-based coolant (coolant oil). When this comes into contact with the surface of standard hydraulic rubber hoses, the outer rubber melts in a short time, exposing the reinforcing wire, which then corrodes, leading to hose rupture.
